Default Rolex 24 Hour

How come Corvette didn't run the event? Deliberately stayed home Saturday afternoon to watch the event & all I saw were a bunch of Prototypes & 911's plus one lone Camaro......what's up with that?

Corvette Racing doesn't participate in Grand Am. LG is one of only 2 Vettes running in Grand Am last year. Guess they stayed home. A 24 hour race is tough and expensive.

Corvette Racing’s next event is the season-opening Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring at Sebring International Raceway on March 19, 2011. Corvette Racing only competes (at present) in ALMS events.

Just goes to show how poor the GT coverage was. There were actually three Camaros.

There sure were one heck of a lot of Porsches! I couldn't believe how many GT3s there were.

And at least two Ferrari's, one even finished

I remember in the mid 70's were cars like AMC Gremlin and Chevy Vega's would run in GTO and place in the top 10 because they finished

There's always a ton of Porsches in all these races. Sort of reminds me of back in the mid-60's when we go to the drags with our Pontiac. We were outnumbered by Chevy's 30-1.

There were three Camaros in the race. Two finished. The 07 Car for wich Ollie Gavin was one of the drivers had to drop out. The other two finished back in the pack. Another former Corvette Driver Max Papas was in one of the prototypes.

I may make the trip to Lime Rock this year too, it looks to be about 3 to 4 hours drive for me too. I'll have to check if they do a Corvette Corral there, I'll be at the one at Sebring in March.

The reason is the rules favored the Mazda last year.
