Just read on another post about the IPod Lockpick. Rather than hijack the mp3 post, I figured I’d start my own…
This Lockpick sounds too good to be true, never knew they existed!! Are they really that easy to install – do they work well – how are the graphics - any regrets??
After dealing with the aggravation in trying to get the mp3 discs to work and display correctly – Lockpick sounds like a dream come true. This would be going in a 06 with touchscreen/NAV/XM.

Any advice or opinions would be appreciated.
Super easy to install and works great. Had it for years now, plug and play. I use the headphone jack instead of the 30 pin, as the on screen controls of the ipod aren't that great. Using the headphone jack means you can control it from the ipod/phone which is easier.

I've had/ used mine for going on 4 years... Until GM brought out a solution, LOCKPICK was the way to go. I prefer the on screen(head unit) controls to using the phone most of the time. That way my iPhone is tucked away(I ran the connection into the center console/ under the arm rest.) After using a few FM transmitters, I came across the LOCKPICK, installed it and never looked back. Last I read, they now sell an add on that lets you view video on the Nav screen. http://www.coastaletech.com/CORVETTEIPOD.htm
Oh and one more thing about using the headphone jack I forgot to mention - I like to listen to podcasts from an app podcaster, audiobooks, and internet radio from Wunderradio. All these work perfectly with the Lockpick. You can even use it for making calls hands free, but you have to set the volume level just right or the person on the other end can hear themselves.
Headphone jack? Is that on the Lockpick or in the car? I have an 06, not aware of a headphone jack unless I'm looking in the wrong place.
(note - I'm not playing dumb, it just comes natural on this subject!)
The lockpick comes with a 30 pin connector that plugs into the bottom of the iphone or ipod and charges it and allows you to control the device from the NAV screen. However, it's a little kludgy in the way it controls the device, it only plays playlists IIRc. It's not user friendly.
But, the lockpick also includes an 3.5mm input, so if you buy a double male 3.5mm cord (readily available) you can use your iphone or ipod's headset jack to control the device. Which is great because you can use not only the ipod feature but internet radio or audiobooks or any app that plays sound.
Ford trucks come with this 3.5mm input factory and I think the 09+Vettes have this input too. But older users can use the lockpick and get the same functionality.
