Just a note to thank all of the Forum advisers on procedures to correct DBS in my '05 Vertt.......No DBS for a couple weeks now and crossing my fingers. To summerize for folks with DBS, it would be wise to do the following. First remove the #47 relay(HDLP WASH) as the American Vettes do not have this feature only the European built(although it would be nice I suppose?!). Next, always put the MN6 Vertt in Reverse before exiting....Always !!! Third....lock the steering wheel in place and last but certainly not least....put her on a Battery Tender !!!!! Should all this fail and DBS is still a problem, do the "Reflash" at your dealer especially if your Vertt is an MN6(Manual 6 Speed).
Next project....replacing interior lights in the footwells and over the license plate. What is the trick to their removal??(besides being a contortionist!!) I figured out the map lights, integrated into the rear view mirror, but can't quite figure out these other two items. Do not want to break anything. Thanks in advance for any input. Gary
Not sure what the technical aspect of the "reflash" does but it somehow is a "reset" of sorts for the on-board computer to initialize the "sleep" aspect of shutting the car down
properly.......sort of, kinda, I guess !!!!
The reflash updates the computer to the most recent calibration standards. That's a different usage for that term. There must be settings that cause the DBS and the new calibration changes them so there is less parasitic draw.
