Default Skip shift eliminator available at GMPARTSHOUSE

Decide for yourself what gear you want to be in! Dump that annoying first-to-fourth "skip-shift" GM incorporates into the 6-speed Camaro, Firebird, Corvette, GTO, and GXP with SLP's Skip-Shift Eliminator. This PLUG IN piece requires no additional modifications to your vehicle. With it in place, you take complete control over gear selection. Isn't that why you got a 6-speed? Plug in installation. Shipped complete including easy installation instructions.

Note: Not legal for use on pollution controlled motor vehicles. For Off-Road Use Only. (Just a legal not we gotta put here, but go ahead and have fun!)

Special price 27.50

To order simply give us a call, shoot me an email at patrick@gmpartshouse.com or you can order on our website by searching the part number 21008 under the chevrolet make here

Not legal for use on pollution controlled vehicles? The $10 smartfuse that does the same thing is...

Huh? It's got nothing to do with pollution control. Second gear is not illegal!

Works good, works fine, lasts a long time, won't throw codes.

Is the control for this in the actual shifter itself? If I have a B&M will I still need this or will replacing the entire unit remove the skip shift?

The shift linkage doesn't matter. The second gear lockout or "skip shift" is accomplished via a solenoid on the trans that locks out second gear. The ship shift eliminator does two things. It lets you disconnect the cable to the second gear lockout solenoid and fools the computer into thinking it is still connected.

The reason GM came out with skip shift in order to try to increase fuel economy and limit emmissions

Oh, you're right, I missed that from the original post. I doubt it actually did anything except irritate drivers and get us out of the gas guzzler tax.
