I've heard the viper, python and clifford systems work well. They will require that you give up a dedicated key fob though. I don't know that they make a transponder that will override the vette's system allowing you to keep the fob. You'll have to check with the installer.
Kinda wondering the appeal of this as my daily 08' Pontiac GXP has remote start, and other than the dealer demonstrating it at delivery, never entered my thought's. Can't imagine why I'd care for such a feature on a fair day spring/summer ride as the Vette, but guess it make's for conversation.
yes you need to give up a remote that stays inside a dei 1101T module. It powers up the remote when needed from the alarm. I installed a Viper 5902. Quite in depth install and time consuming. I would not recommend it unless you have a service manual and extensive install experience.
The Caddi sts have both the remote start and a fob
You can start the car remotely however the car remains disabled until you sit in the drivers seat with the fob
For gm cars without the fob you have to crank the switch to enable and drive the car
I Am not sure why GM did not enable this feature with the corvettes
What would be an advantage to remotely start a car? Why would someone want their car running when they are not in it? I'm missing the point
To cool off the interior or warm up the interior before they get into the car. You're out somewhere and your car has been sitting in the hot sun, it's a convenience to be able to get into a cooled car and not a heatwave when the door is opened.

Ha ha... if you say so. Guess I never thought of it as any inconvenience. I drive a convertible with the top down 99% of the time in San Diego (even at night.)

I could only wish for the weather you and Florida have. It's damned near paradise!!
Using a remote start can be extremely handy in cold temps but should be pretty useless in hot weather as minimal air through the condensing coil should put the AC in struggle mode.
It works well even if to get the hotter air out. Plus the Viper 5902 for example can tell you interior temperature on the remote and you can set automatic start cycles for temp or to charge your battery if it's parked for awhile.
