I have been seeing in catalogs kits for insulation noise reduction. Just wanted to know if they really work ? It is somewhat noisy with the roof up. If so, what brand and where can I get it. I see some have a complete kit, some the partition only. Thanks
The pre cut kit would be the easiest way to go and provides good results. If you want to go to the next level there are several insulation products made specifically for various parts of the car. DynaMat , is most likely the industry leader but also the most expensive. They have a product for floor-pans and other panels in various thickness and costs. This stuff is not cheap but it will make a Corvette quite like a Lexus if that is what you are after. I have a friend who has a C-6 coupe with a B&B cat-back, long-tubes and high-flow cats and it is as quiet as a tomb inside the cabin. Your time and labor are a big issue which will be about the same no matter what product you use. It's just like anything else on these cars, what level of performance do you want and how much do you want to spend. Seriously consider the "Kit" but if you need more db reduction there are other options you can use in addition the the kit insulation.
I'd recommend talking to "RAAMaudio", aka Rick (Forum Vendor) before you make any decisions for purchase. Knows the business and technical/performance aspects and takes care of his customers.
My car is the one in the video. I installed it about 2 1/2 years ago with another member (46490). We also installed it on his Vette and a friend's Z06.
It makes the car feel real solid and reduces tunnel heat dramatically. It probably reduces noise about 3 db.
Feel free to ask me any questions about installing it. I would help you out for free if you lived near Salt Lake City.

I'm looking into a sound deadening kit but from everything I have read I'm not getting my hopes to high. The kits work great for heat though but for sound I have read that it helps some but many wish they would work better. Can't have your cake and eat it too.
Check out Second Skin Audio. Their material appears to be the some of the most technically competent material I have seen. Their Damplifier Pro and Luxury Liner Pro are used by many custom car builders. I have purchased that, but have not received it as yet. When I get it insatalled, I will report of the results I get.
