Where has Velocity Yellow Gone?

At first, VY, wasn't even in my sights. I was trying to decide between CRM or black when I saw a VY off on the side at the dealership. Just had to have it. The rest is history. No turning back and no regrets.

Of the 2010's only 5.7% of production. The fewest of any colors. I am pretty sure the 2011's are trending the same way. Makes me wonder how much longer they'll keep making it. Maybe people don't like paying the extra money.

Ah-HA! Now we know the truth--you took it all!!!!
Oh, it looks great by the way. Way cool engine!
Talked to a couple of dealers today...they admitted the yellows usually go 'fast' when they hit the lot but the owner is scared of the color...worried about hitting the saturation point with their local market and being stuck...it is apparently viewed as a "love it or hate it" color and it could be a deal breaker for many.
One dealership I stopped at has about 20 Vettes currently in production per their computer check for me after the color discussion came up. Only 2 are being built in VY. I was shocked...they have several Z06's inbound but NONE in yellow. One was ordered in white...and yet they have a white Z06 already "sitting" on the lot...I do not get that concept.

If your taste runs to, gaudy, loud, in your face, look at me, VY is it.
That's why my bro and I have VY vettes. Great color on a "08 Z w/chrome wheels. I did install black headlights which toned it down a bit.

I had a MY '05 - sold it and was skeptical about getting another yellow. Not much into "flashy" - but you're driving a Vette, so "flashy" is just the name of the game - no matter what color you have. I went with an '08 VY Vert - and love it. You don't see a lot of them around and I guess that's another reason I'm drawn to yellow. I was debating between Atomic Orange, White or Silver - but still went back to that damn yellow again It is a great color on a Vette!!

When I was shopping for my 08 two years ago, I was telling salesmen to: "show me anything but yellow" (true story)
Fortunately I was able to compare all 08 colors that were available side by side, and like all the bugs in South Florida, I was drawn to VY!!!...
The rest is history with absolutely no regrets.

You know, it's also a color that photographs well, used in alot of GM pro mos. The 2010 brochure for the corvette features a VY on the front and inside. When I bought my VY gs in december, the dealer had a wall size , back lit display of a VY vette on the waiting room wall. Same with the forum here. Yellow is the new red for sports cars.
