Default GMParts Direct

Anyone know who runs the GMPartsDirect.com site and have a phone number for them? I would like to call to be sure I'm ordering the correct part.

You cannot call them, only email is available to contact them. Thats why I will never use them to buy anything. If I were you I would call Gene at GMpartshouse

I ruined a front wheel and I checked both websites. Gene's price is considerably higher than the other so I'd prefer to save the money. Any experience in actually purchasing from partsdirect by anyone? I appreciate your comment so I need more info before ordering from either.

Thanks,
John

As noted, there is no phone service available at GMPartsdirect. They are owned by Flow GM Automotive Group (a Chevrolet dealer in Winston Salem North Carolina.)

Make sure you price your parts from them all the way to checkout. There parts prices are generally very good, there shipping and handling charges are generally very bad. Make sure when comparing them to anyone (GMPartshouse, Partstaxi or Fichtner for example among our great forum parts dealers) that you compare your total out the door cost.

I would never buy from a place that doesnt list their number. I just ordered a wide body kit from Gene. Guess what? The shipping company lost it Gene got me another one out from GM the next day with no questions asked. I paid a bit more but had I gone with GMPartsDirect, I would be fighting a huge headache right now. Good service may cost but it is worth its weight in gold if you ever have a problem.

I have purchased something from them.... an HVAC dash control unit. Shipping was quick and I really didnt have the need to call them. I just had to find the exact part number elsewhere.

I dont know whether to call this a complaint, but the part that I ordered has broke already, less than 2 years. Now, this could just be typical GM crap quality or maybe they get there parts from a crappy supplier.

My .02.

if it's a genuine GM part, it has nothing to do with the parts place that sold it to you, and everything to do with who specifies the quality of the part (and who inspects the parts on a quality check basis).

Like Paul said, go all the way through the shopping cart and see what it is with shipping, then ask yourself, if you had a problem, if the wheel came in out of round, "who ya gonna call"?
Last time I checked ghostbusters didn't do wheel repair

I have done business with GMPartsDirect in the past for my Trans Am parts. Never again. I will spare you my stories.

I will only do business with GM Parts House for all of my GM needs now.

From GM Parts House posts.

Here are a couple of things to remember about GM Parts House!
• We ship via USPS, UPS, UPS Freight and FedEx.
• We accept most major credit cards and PayPal.
• We sell Lloyd Mats and Hawk Performance products.
• We ship to anywhere in the world with both large and small shipments.
• We have a price matching policy. All we need to do is verify the total price shipped.
• We offer a GM warranty in house within 30 days and after 30 days you’re covered by the GM 12 month parts warranty on all Genuine GM Parts.
• We sell all Genuine GM Parts and Genuine GM Accessories, including Chevrolet, Pontiac, Buick, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, GMC, Hummer and now Saturn!

The most important reason to buy from GM Parts House is we’re very knowledgeable about the product(s). Others may claim to know their GM Parts, but we’re the real deal. We interact on the forum here on a regular basis to answer questions or provide you with assistance. We’ll never leave you hanging with a problem!

I've bought from both and have been satified with both. Here lately contacting Gene (GM PartsHouse) direct with my orders has meant dealing with Gene more and better service.

It is more than just price. It is also about service. Anyone can low ball a price, but will they be there for questions or issues? This is the reason that I buy from GM Parts House or Fichtner Chev.

I buy my GM Parts from them. I find them very responsive and shipped out orders quick. Order with confidence IMO.

Try www.finishlinewheels.com They carry OEM wheels. Just got a front one for my '99 from them and it was perfect.

If you're looking for a wheel check the parts section. No need to buy a new one.

I've ordered from them several times without any trouble. They always replied to the E-mails when I had questions. But now I order from GMPartsHouse because I can talk to them on the phone and the prices are very close at checkout.

My one and only experience was a negative one from ~2004 with GMPartsDirect. They shipped me two sets of front brake pads instead of one set for the front axle and one set for rear. No phone number and very clumsy messaging system over their website made it very difficult to get the wrong set picked up and the correct one shipped. Plus they wouldn't correct their mistake until they had received the incorrect set. They never mentioned that policy until I asked when the correct set would be shipped. Never again will I put myself in that situation again.

Our only line of communications are via email, this is to help ensure that you receive the correct part numbers and information the first time you request. If any of my techs supply the incorrect part numbers via email and the information supplied to us, we will authorize the return, and then re-verify the part number needed and supply the correct part number to order. We will stand behind the information we supply, if it is wrong, we will correct it promptly.

We want you to receive the correct part the first time, every time and is the reason we want to verify the correct part numbers via our licensed GM parts catalog.

We try to answer all emails within 24 hours (Monday -Friday 8am - 5pm EST) of receiving the email, our department goal is to answer the email within 1-2 hours of receiving the email. If you have not received a response to your emailed request within 24 hours (Monday - Friday) please PM me here on the forum or email me (at customerservice@GmPartsDirect.com) with Attention Scott T. in the subject field so I can be sure to answer your request, then look into the reason you did not receive a prompt response to your original request.

Also if you did not receive the highest level customer service, please let me know. We want to have the lowest prices, best buying experience and best customer service on the internet, anything less is just unacceptable and I want to know about your experience so I can have it corrected promptly.

If you find a lower delivered price at one of our competitors, please email us and we will try to meet and beat their delivered price. We do not like being under sold.

Thank you,

Scott T.
