Garmin GPS and c6 corvettes
To whom it may concern:
Have you heard of any problems with using peripheral GPS such as Garmin for C6 corvettes in terms of interference with onStar, remote keyless entry, or other corvette electronics? I saw one site on the web where this may have been an issue. Perhaps this was an isolated incident. I would rather use the peripheral GPS rather than the one that comes with the vehicle.
thanks for input.

I've never had a problem with my Garmin interfering with anything. Radar detector and Garmin are almost touching and the in car GPS works fine as well. Consider the source I guess?

GM says items like that can be a problem, but it seldom happens. Cellphone chargers occasionally create a "No fob detected" situation.
If something starts getting goofy in the car, unplug the accesories and see what happens.
We've had a Valentine radar detector and redlight camera GPS hotwired in for 5 years, and a plug-in CB for the same time, no problems.

My cell phone charger was causing the "no fob" condition. Unplugging it solved the problem immediately. Was driving me crazy- couldn't figure it out. Read the manual - imagine that! LOL

I use the Garmin for directions and have it turn with my heading, I then set the map on the on board for the map and I can zoom out or in depending on what I'm doing. So having both in different modes works for me. It came with the car and why not use it when you can?

thanks again
Thanks again everyone for your prompt response. I wasn't planning on using both the Garmin and navigation that came with the vehicle. I am presently looking for a new or certified pre-owned C6 and I was researching whether there were any problems with using Garmin devices in the C6
