Use a hair dryer to heat the emblem up. A heat gun might be too much for the paint. Then after the emblem is warmed up, use a piece of mono-filament behind the emblem to "cut" the adhesive foam tape. Then use an automotive adhesive remover to get the rest of the adhesive off. Denatured alcohol works also.

Agreed. Also I suggest using WD-40 as a lubricant while sawing the emblem off with the mono-filament. Helps cut through the 3M tape much faster and easier. Without the lube the adhesive from the tape can gum up of the mono-filament.

I've removed good amount of emblem's and body side molding's, and most the above suggestion's are pretty good. I found an infrared reflector heat lamp as used in many bathroom fixture's work's best as a heat source. If a clear type lamp, good idea to wear dark glasses.

Un-waxed dental floss works too.

A much easier/safe way is to use dental floss behind the badge, add a little 3M adhesive remover (any hardware carries it) and slowly pull it off. voi la. Don't use electricity near the adhesive remover since it is highly flamable...............

Depends on size of badge. If it is the GM badge, done 5 times, I heat with a moderate heat with hair dryer, then put dental floss behind the top, squirt a little 3M glue remover (wont hurt paint) at top edge, and va la, it slides right off while moving the floss downward and back and forth. Got 8 of them in my garage. Look terrible on the car. Robforster

WD 40 and a little patience. No heat required other than parking in the sun. Just don't get it on any badges emblems you want to keep.

This method usually gets them off quickly, but can be messy if not done properly ...
