It's been a hard damn decision, but I'm opting for a 2007 Lemans Blue 3LT auto/paddle Vert (tan top/interior, chrome wheels). Can get into this cream-puff 10k mile car for the same money as an 08 3LT/Z51/NPP. The lack of the NPP and 30 fewer horses (plus the thread on steering feel) were a sacrifice, but keeping Momma happy was the (very intelligent) compromise. For you 07 Vert guys (and gals), any watch-outs or suggestions for a newbie to the topless ranks???
It isn't specific to 2007, but check the interior liner of the convertible top for holes just behind the top back corner where the liner goes behind the frame at the top of the door glass. If a TSB wasn't done, it can wear a hole in the liner. Also, be sure to operate the power top a few times to make sure that everything does what it should. Some have had problems with the tonneau cover striking the top a various points in the process. Beyond that, check the rockers because they can be cracked if the car isn't lifted properly during service. Sounds like a great color combo. You can add NPP later on.
You'll want to treat the tan top with some RaggTop to help keep it clean. Don't keep the top down when it is wet or you'll develop mould. I've got the tan top and have had no problems keeping it clean.
Check the Owners Manual and familiarize yourself on the procedure to manually open the tonneau and manually raise or lower the top.
Make sure you understand the attachment of the trunk partition and be aware that the top won't open or close if the trunk lid isn't shut tight.
Also, if this is you first C6, find the button and key hole to open the trunk, locate the pulls in the trunk to manually open the door and gas door and the door release levers inside.
I could go on but basically you need to read the Manual.
My power top has been very reliable and if you're driving and it starts to rain, you can raise the top without stopping by pulling up on the E-brake one click.
Just make sure you're going very slow or your top will be a sail.
Congrats on the new car.
And since you will be driving with the top down, it's almost a law that you wave to other Vettes, especially verts.
Amen, brother ... the wave is sacred! This will be my second Vette, first Vert. God willing, many more to come! Appreciate all the tips. I'll check out the interior this morning & remember the emergency brake trick!

No troubles at all!! In fact, the only issue I ever had with my 07 was the harmonic balancer. All fixed and running fine. The npp's are a nice feature, so I added fusions (among my many mods). FYI, when I bought my car in October 2009, I told all my friends I was keeping the car stock. Except for window tint, that held true for about a year, then I went nuts!! Lol. Enjoy it and good luck with it. Believe me, I am not missing the 30 horses of an LS3 anymore!!!
