THANKYOU GURU's!
(coming from 07 tuned 335i 6m coupe 375 WHP)
In the marked for a USED c6 under 30K!!
I've been kicking around the idea of a GS... But my Black '06Z51mn6 coupe is perfect so I don't know if I'm being smart or not. Send me a pm if you have an interest in it. I'm the only owner, I bought it new and it now has only 13K miles (I drive my '59 whenever I can so the C6 just sits in the garage with it's Battery Tender & Cover). It's a stock 2LT coupe with the 2-top option. I only installed Flowmasters and all new "Supercar EMT Run-Flat" Tires w/Chrome Spyder Wheels about 300 miles ago.
I would pass on a 2005, period, for the fact of the weak albatross 2005 differential that grenades itself without having to do anything in particular to cause it.
A 2008 can be had for high $20's - very low $30's - seen them here in the Forum For Sale Section on multiple occassions...and a 2008 will run circles around earlier ones, plus all the rest of the upgrades and improvements mechanically and cosmetically that were done in 2008.
If I had $29k to spend on a 2005 I would absolutely positively wait and find a 2008 for similar money.
Hang in there and don't get in too big of a hurry and have patience, you will find a great one if you keep looking.
When the OP says he wants a nice car in excellent condition you off him a car with 80k and a car with 55k.......
I bought a very nice '05 C6 Z51 with 85K on it for $18.8K. LS2 engine will go 250K miles. So go ahead and pay an outrageous price for a car with a few less miles and pass up some real nice ones that have miles. Maybe you have money to burn, I don't.
2 weeks ago I purchased a 2007 from a dealer in the bay area. They were asking 27.9 and I paid full price. 18.5k miles. Never driven in rain, not a scratch on it inside, outside or underneath. There are definitely deals out there... but it is hard to find a low mileage one w/ out a big asking price imo.

85000 miles vs 18000 miles is a lot more than "a few less miles".What are you thinking?Of course the low mileage one is worth more than the worn out one.

Far from worn out...
Plenty have been advertised with lots fewer miles at great prices.
Everyone has an equally valuable opinion on what they would or wouldn't buy at a particular price. Some think paying top dollar or over for a low mileage one is a deal, some don't...and vice versa.
Check out the miles on some of the older year model C5 cars if you want to see how well they last, and I can't imagine anything but better and longer lasting as they have gotten newer and better design with better materials and technology.
the only 08 I saw at a dealer had 84,000 miles
was automatic jetstream blue 4 lt package
For 26,000
yes that is some great advice and I will keep my eyes open but I don't want to wait forever because my trade-in depreciates even more
I bought my 2006 coupe, Z51, 3LT, 6 speed with paddle shift, with 95,000 highway miles for $15,000. The car runs great, Victory Red paint looks great and I am the only one that knows the miles on it when I drive it around town with my beautiful black wheels and black GS stripes. 400 Horse Power for 15K aint bad. If I want to sell it tomorrow, I could still get my 15k out of it.
Check the C6's For Sale Forum and do a search and you will see those that have been offered with significantly less miles at great prices. Disregard the chatter, and search the facts instead.
To find the right car with the right miles for you, at a great price because you waited for the right deal, will more than make up for what you might be thinking your trade will depreciate. Trades don't depreciate all that quickly over a month or two of looking for the car you want.
Dealers capitalize Big Time on those who don't have patience and feel they must act quickly...money from your pocket to their's anytime you feel like you must hurry.
With diligence and patience you will persevere. The right car at a great price always comes along to those who patiently wait, and patiently search, for the right one to pop up.

This dude did better than I did! I thought I was the man getting a 'very nice' '05 C6 Z51 (loaded) for $18.8K. He knows what its about. I bought my '99 with 109K on it. Upgraded the drive train to C5Z and blew the doors of most C6s. Don't be afraid of high mileage cars. Look at how they were cared for instead.
BTW, there was another thread in this forum about an '10 with 14K miles and a blown engine. So much for low miles.
