Really, can anything help lower perceived road noise in a top-up convertible? So much sound filters through the top, it's hard to believe anything would help because at speed the sound from above would always overwhelm road noise, wouldn't it?

I've tried to isolate the noise I hear when the top is up and really my ears can't distinguish if they come from above or below or from behind. Maybe my hearing is messed up i don't know (too much rock music!)

For those who have installed the Blockit mat . . . Does it tame down the drone?

I have Magnaflows, and love everything but the resonation that the deep sounds produce, i.e. 'Drone'.

Does Blockit do the job?

Edit: Good comments about reducing road noise. Does it reduce drone??

I guess i would really like to know the answer to that one as well...I have been considering the mat for a while but haven't received a solid answer from anyone running a similar set up. I currently have B&B bullets, no cats, 1 7/8 headers and an cam. i did a peel and seal fix a while back and the wife will do do short trips....i need to make it a little bit more tolerable for her. I know the drone on those bullets is insane...so no need for sarcastic comments...i just want to cut it down a little bit more...maybe someone can chime in?

Is that the 3 pc mats that you drop in 2 behind the seats and 1 for the cargo?
If so I drop them in a base factoy C-6. Can't tell a difference.

This is no slam on Ed, or TKO, but I would prefer the opinion of some end users, not the vendor.

Yes, there are vendor claims, but to me, it matters way more what the customers have experienced.

I bought the Block-It mats when they first came out.
Stock 09 coupe with NPP so even though there is drone with the pipes open it can't be compared to loud aftermarket exhausts.

IMO the Block-It mats work as advertised.
I like them, and Personally noticed a reduction in road noise and what drone there is with the NPP open.
But, it's not night and day.
I also installed a partition which also helped reduce noise in combination with the Block-It mats

** But, if you have a loud exhaust with lots of drone, it's only going to reduce it slightly.
And, ... Probably not enough for most people to notice or be happy with if your main intent is to get rid of the drone from really loud pipes.
Hope this helps

This is the second page of a thread I started to advise when BLOCKITS were shipping. It attracted some positive comments
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...hipping-2.html

My set up is stepped headers to loudmouth II's. Extremely loud. Its the reason I developed the Blockit in the first place. It doesn't turn my car into a caddy... But that’s not what its designed for. No doubt it takes the edge off and helps with interior noise. Takes longer to take it out of the box then it does to install. The perforated top layer not only look great but is very durable so you can still use your cargo area. Feel free to throw an aftermarket cargo mat on it too.

One of our hottest sellers. If you find interest in this product right now I'm out of stock again until beginning of next week.6/25

The only answer I see is to go back to stock. I think I would try Corsa Sports. But mine complained with the headers and the Sports too. The Bullets must be insane.

Even without engine/exhaust mods the car is loud on the highway.
