I went to the Greater Milwaukee auto show today and there was a Supersonic Blue ZR1. It was in between the two different ways I'd seen this color. on the Chevy website, where you can build your own car, it looks almost gray. In Chevy's computer generated images, it looks very blue .
SSB is very much in between the JSB and Cyber Gray colors as I saw all of them on the assembly line in BG several weeks ago. Very hard to tell which color you are looking at because the lighting conditions have a dramatic effect on how they appear.
Fluorescent Lighting does not do this car color justice. I have yet to get what I consider to be a good shot of my 2011 GS Convertible in SSB. As soon as the weather clears my daughter who is about to graduate with her degree in Professional Photography is going to get me some shots. All the money I put into here degree will finally pay off.
Here is my best shot with my little digital camera.

The same ZR1 was at the Syracuse Auto Show earlier this month, I like the color. I'm thinking it's a color that looks different based on the lighting. I've got a Cyber Gray GS and the Gray looks totally different in bright sunlight vs artificial light, it has touches of blue that you won't see indoors. I'm thinking the Supersonic Blue is a similar situation, but I'd like to see one in bright sun.
I am a blue car person. The SSB looks more grey/gray than blue in any lite. All this has nothing to do with the color, its just the name they gave to it.
Supersonic it isn't. Maybe BORING BLUE but supersonic ? Give me a break ! And Jetstream or SMURF BLUE thankfully is ending ! Come on GM ! Bring out a decent blue already ! It can't be that hard can it ? If they had a decent blue there would already be a GS vert on order. Maybe, just maybe the BASH in April will reveal something worthwhile !
I have not seen SSB in person yet. Pics just don't seem to do it any justice.
I remember the first time I saw JSB in person. It was a dull overcast day in FL and I thought the color was weird. Over the next few months, though, the color really grew on me, especially after seeing JSB on a bright sunny day.
Just like many colors, especially blues, the way they look depends on the temperature of the lighting. Fluoresent, tungsten, daylight, etc, will all look different.
I personally love SSB. Certain colors will definitely look better in the sun to give it some "pop". AO is one of those colors. In the garage it looks somewhat flat. In the sunlight it looks like it is a foot deep.
I really like the JSB. It's been a while but I think it's because it reminds me of my 85 Medium Blue coupe. I would really like to see the two colors side by side.
SSB is a nice color, very tasteful, though i personally perfer JSB over SSB. However they are both nice.
Typically there will always be some comments in a "blue thread" where people whine about how Chevy should bring back LMB.
Seriously folks, get over it. Im sure if Chevy had kept LMB all of this time there would also be the group that complained because they never changed from LMB to something else.
LMB is a really nice eye-catching color. So was Electron Blue back in 02 or 03. But i dont see people crying about that one
I know you all that drive the LMB cars have something special, you ought to enjoy it because it looks great and had a great run from 04-07. Im sure the guys who own the 08-11 JSB are plenty happy that LMB got dropped so they could get their own special blue.
JSB, in person, is one of the most stunning colors ive seen on a Corvette in a very long time.
