What are the best ceramic pads for an 08/09 LS3 Coupe? I presume the stock pads are metallic? For F55 drilled rotors, any precautions to ensure a successful installation? Thanks
I changed my stock brake pads on my 06 Z51 to GM ceramic at 500 miles. Now the car has 10K miles on it and I swear it's the best change I made to the car. The dust from my stock pads on my polished aluminum wheels was driving me crazy.

I put Hawk ceramic pads on my car because the new GM ones were squealing like crazy. The change liminated the problem and virtually no brake dust (but I wash the car often anyway).

I had hp sales put them on when they did my headers. I only did the front and they were not expensive. You can do it yourself because it is really easy if you have a floor jack. I don't remember the price but you can check out the price on their website.
OK, guys what's the cost and did you do all four wheels?
Also, did you do it yourself or have the dealer do it?
Thanks, Kliph
If you look up the part numbers I posted on gmpartsdirect.com, it will have the prices. I did the install myself. It is super easy. Will take you longer to get your wheels off and on versus the actual installation of the pads.
If you want to get a great deal on ceramic pads we have a GREAT deal on Centric Ceramic Pads shipped to your door for $89! These pads are very low dust and are VERY quiet! They are as good as the GM pads and are cheaper!
I haven't put them on my new GS yet but I've had them on my '02 Avalanche since new. Still the original pads and over 125,000 miles on them. They are used as severe duty pads on police and fire vehicles too.
