Carbon black is what GM is calling their new black with metallic in the paint. It's been on other manufacturers cars for a couple of years now. I had it on my 09 Genesis and now have this color on my Ford Taurus SHO, these cars are leased and see the automatic car wash every time they need a wash, what I notice is that this color seems to hide the swirl marks.
The new black is just one more depressing black, gray, dark color. Goes along with the mood in the country. Corvettes are about having fun not going to a funeral.
JSB forever!!
I have that metallic black on my Escalade and I really don't like it. I think it's called Ice black but I could be wrong. Always looks dusty to me haha

Corvettes are also about being "in your face aggressive" in styling. Some prefer a more sinister high performance stance in the dark colors to the" hey every body look at me Bling" therefore black happens to be the most produced and popular Vette out there. Must be for a reason? On the other end of the spectrum JSB and other like colors are produced in limited "safe" numbers ,not because they are special but because GM does not have confidence in their popularity.Sometimes they make mistakes and discontinue some as in LMB,a rich but somewhat subdued color. BTW plenty of fun to be had in my Black ZO6.
