3M vs Clearshield
I believe if you do a search you will find some clearshiled owners on the site. I believe they all had good experiences.
I install what I feel is the best film with the best finish, warranty, and durability. There are three films I like. I have installed VentureShield Ultra for years. Great smooth film with a 7 year warranty... used to be a lifetime warranty until 3M bought them out. Still a different film than 3M so don't confuse the two. Avery Nano Fusion film is an excellent film in every way. Perfectly smooth and very durable. Only drawback is you can only get it up to 48" rolls so no full hood installs. Xpel Extreme film is a new film that is also very nice. Perfectly smooth. Maybe a little more difficult to install but great overall. I would recommend any of the later three films. If you need help fining an installer in your area I may be able to help. I have been in the industry for a while and know of many good installers around the country. Most of them do install these films as you will get the best results if you start with a great film. The rest is in the installer. Let me know if you have any more questions.
We have a 5300 square foot shop close to the Beltline and Marsh intersection.
With more than 12 years in this industry and experience testing almost every single paint protection material on the market, I've seen the good, the bad and the ugly. To separate the real quality materials from the bunch I developed a 25 item, 1-10 grading scale that includes topics such as Aesthetics, Durability, Adhesion, Installation, and Logistics. (Logistics includes Quality Control, Size Selection, Pricing, Availability).
I might get into it deeper at another time but what you want to know is who the top 3 films are at this point.
1= Venture Shield 7510CC
Aesthetics=10
Durability=10
Adhesion=10
Installation=10
Logistics=9
(Comes in 60" master roll so we can do most panels in one piece. We like this)
2= Xpel Xtreme
Aesthetics=9
Durability=9
Adhesion=8
Installation=9
Logistics=10
(Also comes in 60" master roll)
(Xpel is very eager to do business, listen to our research/feedback, and interested in improving their product. They will not stop until they have the best film on the market, guaranteed.)
3= Avery Nano Fusion
Aesthetics=10
Durability=9
Adhesion=10
Installation=9
Logistics=5
(logistics includes "available sizes". Their largest roll is 48" so it limits custom clear bra installers like us. We don't like limits.)
Clear Shield isn't even worth mentioning. You won't be happy with that material or the 3M ScotchGard.
Both very inferior products that will cost you more to remove than install. We know, we remove tons of it that other installers talk people into purchasing because they have never seen the horrific results.
We are accustomed to doing Full Car Clear Bras and we do them very well. There isn't anything we cannot put PPF on and make look great. We are very excited about the future of this market and the products that are available now and in the future.
We do many exotics, race cars, classics, luxury cars, trucks, big rigs, boats, aircraft, motorcycles, bikes, and much more.
Here are a few of our latest installs.
All are done with Venture Shield.
All are custom, hand trimmed pieces. No precut kits.
