This park (Johnson Park, near New Brunswick, NJ) is centrally located and near I-287 and the NJ Turnpike. It is 12 miles from the Outter Bridge Crossing and Staten Island, NY

i know a great place in NY just 30 minutes north of the George washingtion bridge. just take Palisades parkway all the way to the end until it gets to the traffic circle and seven lakes drive/state park is the third right when you drive around the traffic circle.

Its called Seven Lakes drive in Bear Mountain. Its a State park that is always 90% completely empty with the best driving/carving roads prob in the northeast.

the road runs through a state forest/state park and is close to 10 miles long of twistys, straights and beautiful scenery.

the best part is that it has 7 huge scenic lakes and each lake has it own huge rest area.. enough to fit 100's of cars.

It cant get any better then this and its close for both NY and NJ drivers.

lets make it happen up here this is the only place it should be!!

The place described in post 26 is Bear Mountain State Park in NY. Very nice for an outing and is located just south of the Bear Mountain Bridge that crosses the Hudson River.

Bear mouintain sounds good. How about the first weekend in June? That way the holiday will be over and there won't be that many people in the park.

I'm in for sure! Would love it to be in Jersey but I'll do New York as well.

In the mean time if there are any other get togethers someone please let me know. I'm new to the area and still trying to meet people.

I believe NYS charges a small fee to get into the park but that's it. Might be a good idea to let park officials know that A LOT of vettes are going to be there on a certain date..... Perhaps they'd have some suggestions on setting things up.....
