I am interested in battery life on C6 STOCK ONLY corvettes. I would like to know when you had to replace your factory installed battery due to failure.
For this purpose, "Stock only" means there has been no electrical modifications to the vehicle, such as replaced factory radio with different model, modified lighting (except replacing existing interior bulbs with LED bulbs), or modification of car's computer module (Dyno Tune).
I am curious if there is any connection between making modifications to your car and "Dead Battery Syndrome".
The poll will close in 10 days.
Thanks

I've had mine since April 2007 car sits for weeks at a time, no tender, but now I have a service charging system light flashing randomly, I'd rather the battery dead if that is the cause.

Mine is a 08 Vert....purchased new in March 08, which if the Nuns taught me correctly is 3 years old. 20,000 miles... NO tender...longest sitting without being driven is 3 weeks. No battery problems.
And, in the for what it's worth dept.... A 04 Silverado 4x4 Purchased new in Aug 04.. 56,000 miles....Still on the ORIGINAL battery....Longest not being driven...2 months. NO TENDER Had to jump it once 2 yrs ago.
Stock or modified doesn't matter. Leave these cars sit long enough and the battery is drained. Other cars will do it as well but they're typically driven much more so it isn't a problem.

That may be so, but I am more interested in battery failure and not the occasional, "I didn't drive the car, so the battery is dead issue." I indicated "Stock Only" because I am trying to rule out as many variables as possible.
Original battery since Dec. 2007, 36k miles and still going. I throw on a Cteck charger every 3 or 4 months for a maintenance charge which keeps the battery in a healthy state. My car has sat for up to 3 weeks and fired up like it was driven the day before.
I'm assuming the Delco battery was installed sometime mid '04 since my '05 was an early build according to the VIN. It died a quick death with no warning at a little over 5 1/2 years, but I couldn't be happier with its performance.
For the last 2 years I've used an Optima Yellow Top battery which easily handles direct lines to both 450W and 750W audio amps and I couldn't be happier with its performance.
Mine developed a hairline crack around the positive terminal. Caused nasty acid to leak and completely corrode the positve cable. Dealer had to replace battery and the pos/neg wire harness. Fortunately it all happened just prior to the 3/36 warranty expiration so it was all on GM's dime.
06 Car with upgraded audio(2 JL amps 750w total) 2+ years ago upgrade was installed.
Still on OEM battery. Car has never had a tender on it in its life. Car also sits idle for weeks at a time in an unheaded garage in NY winters. When replacement time comes, OEM battery going in.
'05 purchased new in June '05.....weekend driver.....on battery tender over winters. Original Delco still running strong although I did purchase an Optima Red Top (type 25) that I intend to install as a precaution soon as the weather warms up a bit.
