I'm making the final decision on this car tomorrow, and the last thing I'm checking is whether or not any mods might have been done to it.
The only engine shot I have is this one. I'm not yet familiar enough with these things to recognize what is stock and not stock, but a Google search for pics turned up quite a lot of 2008 engines with a slightly different looking air intake duct than this one has.
I want a completely stock car, so I'm wondering if this one has been fooled with or not. Here's the pic:
Yes, fooled with. I can't tell what is on it but it isn't the factory setup. At the very least the resonator box on the passenger side of the intake is missing......it may be an after market intake or a modded factory intake. Others more familiar will probably be able to tell.
Looks like an aftermarket air intake did you ask the person or dealer if it is?I assume they should know.....
It's not at a GM dealer....they are clueless about Corvettes.
This car also has the NPP disabled, that I noticed on a test drive which I'm hoping is just the fuse being removed.
If it's just an aftermarket air intake setup that I can put back to stock fairly easily, I might be able to deal with it...if they knock off enough bucks to put everything right.

But it might be an after market setup where the shroud was cut. Hopefully someone will recognize it for sure and be able to clarify for you.
If it's got an aftermarket CAI then it might also have been tuned by who knows who. That part would concern me the most. If it's got a bad tune it could be big big problems down the road.
