Looking at buying some Cleartastic for trip home from Museum in a few weeks as GM does not make "fender flaps" for GS and I really do not like the look of the alternative aftermarket flaps.
Seems like they make two versions, one with cutouts for the GM emblems (chicklets) on the rear fenders and one without. I assume the ones without are the current production?
Can anyone confirm this.
Chiclets were started at the beginning of the 2006 model year. GM stopped installing them shortly after the start of the 2010 model year. (The first few weeks of 2010 production had them.)
I believe they were first installed in 06. I have an 07 and have them. Not sure when they ditched them. Someone will get you the answer. Good Luck.
I have an 06 that has them and would like to remove them for a cleaner look. Are they stick-on and easily removeable with some heat, or are they fastened with a stud and nut? Thanks to anyone for some guidance.

Isn't there a pic somewhere where a guy removed his chicklets with a reciporcating saw??

Heat them up and they come off. A little Goo Gone and floss helps. My first mod was removing them.

I took mine off the day I got the Vette home. I used some fishing line, cut the material behind the chicklet in a sawing motion then used goo gone to remove the remaining glue.
I believe the material you cut through is the foam backing of the double sided tape they use to stick them on. Very easy, take your time, no marks or scratches left when I was done. Nice clean look when your finished.

Just remember to save them. 20 years or so from now when C6's are NCRS eligible, you can make a fortune selling pre owned chiclets. If only I would have kept all of the air pumps I ripped off of C3's in the early 70's.

Absolutely! I'm saving the original interior smell and would save the original tire air if I could. Thanks for the tip. Reminds me of the one Commandment for DIY car care and maintenance. "First...do no harm."
