Default Differences between years

Hi there,

In the market for my first corvette and could use a little information. Does anyone know a source to find out the following?

Differences each year on the C6
Also Differences in the Z06 model 2006 going forward
What the 1LT, 2LT etc packages came with each year

Thanks a bunch,

Brian

Would take too much effort to give you the differences between 1Lt & 2LT & 3Lt for every year. There's also a 4LT for some years. Get it narrowed down to 1 or 2 years and one model and it's doable. Differences are not the same every year.

Z06 light'est Vette built-highest NA HP/torq Vette-only Vette with 427 engine.

2006-lightest of all production year Z06's. Each year grow tad bit weight. (all still under 3200 I think) Most all '06's have had recall done for roof delamination. (I think some early 2007's also affected by recall) If you consider this year make sure recall was done. (If not, if it was going to be a problem I'm sure it would have by now) No major issues.

2007-Some early models affected by roof recall (I think). Steering wheel stereo controls added this year (I think) Two tone seats appeared. (I think) I think half shafts/diff may have been updated in '07 as well.

2008-I think 3LZ option pkg appeared in '08. I think dry sump got larger (two different years got larger to present 10.5 qt)

I would just say that you should get an '08 or newer as it has the bigger engine.

I would love to get an 08 but the 06 and 07's are more in my price range.

Regarding the bigger engine in 08, aren't they all the same Ls7 427?

'06,'07, and'08 Z06's are all LS-7's with 505hp. '05, '06, and '07' coupes or vert are Ls-2's with 400 hp. '08 and newer coupes and verts are LS3's with 430 hp(436 with optional dual-mode exhaust).

Z06's are the same size. I believe that poster must have meant the LS3 in 08 was bigger than in past years.

So if I can find a sweet deal on a low miles 2006 Z06 I wouldn't be missing much from not buying a 2007 or 2008 right?

A LS7 is a LS7, but for '08 all manual Vettes got the upgraded TR 6060 trans and upgraded steering. Here's a list.

Changes for 2007 Corvettes

Exterior Color:

83U Atomic Orange Metallic Tintcoat (a bright chromatic orange), replaces Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic
GM mailed every dealer the new color selection with an actual chip of the new color. It is MUCH brighter and lighter than Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic!!!

Interior:

Two-tone Modified Seats (perforated leather seating surface) with crossed flag embroidery and contrasting stiching.
Available in 026 Red, 316 Cashmere, 846 Titanium
Available on Coupe and Convertible with 2LT or 3LT equipment packages

UK3 Steering-wheel mounted audio controls included with Bose premium audio systems (US9/U3U)

Larger glovebox storage space

UE1 OnStar now available on Z06 with 2LZ equipment group

Enhanced acoustic package reduces road noise and is included with Z06 2LZ equipment group

Bose audio enhancements

New keyless access transmitter with integrated mechanical key

CM7 Power convertible top is now included with Convertible 3LT equipment group

Cross-drilled brake rotors now included with F55 Magnetic Selective Ride Control

Note:
A. Console Lock eliminated
B. New fob delayed, probably until 2008

Per AnotherYellow, 8/8/06

Underhood Light Deleted

5-Yr/100,000-mile powertrain warranty

Dec. 06 – Eliminated the coupe rear hatch lid pulldown handle
Per siffert

If you want an authoritative reference publication go to the corvette museum website and buy the Corvette Black Book. It has every detail you could want for every Corvette ever made. Great resource and updated annually.
