Default z51 rotor question

For all you z51 owners. I am going to need to rotors and pads soon, and was wondering where the best place to get replacement rotors is. I am toying with upgrading to z06 calipers etc., but not certain I can justify the cost difference with the wife just yet.

Let me know what you guys recommend. Thanks.

Also - my wheels will allow for z06 set up.

Man, if this was me, this would be the perfect excuse to "move up" to the Z06 brake setup. I HATE the look of the wimpy rear caliper on my Z51.

If it were me , I'd stick with stock parts and use my local dealership as a source to do the work

I changed my base model over to Z51 brakes and I got the rotors and larger brackets from Parts Taxi, a vendor here. I've seen them listed at other vendors also. The Parts Taxi ones are zinc coated, which is nice.

Z06 brake upgrade is a nice touch but your looking at about 1500 to do it if you look hard for the parts then you will also need new wheels as they dont fit under the stockers.

Z51 rotors can be had from the dealer for just over $300 (there cost is even less, if you shake them down you can get them right around $300) Or you can get nice rust proof coated ones from Mike at TPS motorsports for around $380 I believe.

Id go for the Z06 brakes if I were you, other then appearance, the Z51 brakes really dont do anything for you.

This article has some pretty good suggestion on base C6 brake upgrades. I think the rotors are pretty cool.

For what your going to pay for those rotors you would be better off upgrading to Z06 brakes and having more stopping power and better looks.
