I have only driven my toys on sunny days,my new GS will never see a rain drop, unless I get caught or am on a road trip. But that's just me. Sorry to hear of the problems your having.

Yeah it was a Monday a few weeks ago. It was pouring hard all of a sudden and yes I went through some puddles but didn't think they were that deep. Hope I can get insurance to cover it. Its a different insurance company but its on my insurance record that this has happened once before. Bye bye Vararam.

For me that power mod was worth the risk/reward.......

It's all about how much risk someone is willing to adsorb in the pursuit of extra performance..
I'm with you, you pay your money and take your chances. Sorry to hear that the OP has motor issues BUT, he got paid off the first time good. However to do it again and want us to bail him out again! NFW! Who said, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a differant outcome."

There are much better quality made intakes for pick up trucks than that POS Vararam for the vette.

It's a roll of the dice when you mod, no matter what you do to it.

I hydro locked a small block 327 a few years ago and as a result 2 rods were bent. This happened on start up and would have been much worse at a higher rpm.

Never had any issue after 3 years with my Vararam and torrential downpours.

Did you drive through a freakin' lake?

It was pouring really hard and yeah it was kinda flooding you could say. I drove through some areas that I questioned since I wasn't too familiar with the area and shortly thereafter started getting some engine noise.

That sucks man...sorry about the bad luck. For future reference I was stuck in a similar situation and had to drive mine home. Pulled over and took out the top portion od the vm and ran an open throttle body. Made it home just fine and save my motor

Good luck! I'm amazed your insurance company covered it. Generally, any after market mods to the drivetrain are excluded. Moss Magnuson doesn't help there.

My best friend owns a repair shop in SoCal and saw an LS2 destroyed with a Vararam. He said it was a guy crossing a street that had deep standing water in the rain gutters. The guy tried to cross slowly but as the nose went through the motor locked. They were denied insurance and put a used engine in it they bought off eBay.

Could be, they do an excellent job of sucking up any puddles of water you drive through.
