The coverage is horrible now. I've gone from watching the entire race on a 90" screen in my media room to either watching it on my computer or watching just an hour on ABC.
I don't know who's to blame SpeedTV or ALMS, but it sucks!
I loved the coverage. i turned my Xbox on and it was damn near HD quality with very very few commercial interruptions. i loved that they had the Radio Lemans feed playing as well.

ABC has the contract. SpeedTV is a Fox company And you are right - coverage sucks.
You can still watch the ALMS 12 Hours of Sebring on ESPN3.com. Go there and select Replay, Auto Racing, Last 30 days and you'll find the ALMS race fairly easily. Its kind of nice that I don't have to record it myself. There's not many commercials. I would like the video quality to be a little bit better. I also need to find a way to get is to my TV screen rather than my smaller computer screen. So far, its a plus for me, but I think the ALMS is not going to get the general population coverage that the participants might want.

I was in the Corvette Corral at Sebring, and it was on the big screen in the tent there for the whole race, I believe it was ESPN3 if I'm not mistaken. Johnny O'Connell was one of the announcers calling the race. I plan on making a couple more ALMS events this year, but those I can't make I'd better be able to catch on the screen at some point. Way too much NASCAR I'm thinking, not enough real racing.
trying to decide if i want to go this year at Road America...
We'll see once it gets closer. I usually get free tickets.
I plan on going! Went there for the AMA Superbike races last year, for the 1st time. swore I would HAVE to see cars race on that awesome track. Have buddies that go every year. I will be joining them! Also, they are having a big Corvette tribute the day after. (Sunday)
To watch on espn3.com your ISP has to be one thats hooked up with espn3 or your not watching anything on your computer.
My ISP Cabelvision is not so i had to wait for the delay shortened version of 12 hours alms on sunday

The track is awesome. I did a trackday with my sport bike a few years back. it was intense. If you need anything when you are there, let me know. I can pm you my number just incase. I only live 5 minutes away.

Awesome! I'll keep that in mind. Track day is on my bucket list! Would love to take my CBR1000 on that track. Been riding 30 years now. Never on a track.

Ditto! The next race will be on April 17th at 5pm Central on ABC.
I watched the Sebring race through my son's X-Box/smaller TV as well. Hope to hook up to the big screen next time. Every year the ALMS touts its' "great TV package" when in reality it is less 'fan friendly' than the year before. One theory I've read is that SPEED is so committed to NASCAR and the France family owned Rolex series that they won't cover the competing ALMS as well. I realize the ALMS does not have the fan base of NASCAR but their cumbersome access to race coverage does not encourage the marginal fan and does nothing to gain viewers. Re RA in August, I have my room booked already. Should be a great time on Sunday to see all the historic cars and drivers. So many pioneers of the car hobby from the '50's-'60's are leaving us every year we need to take advantage of seeing them for what might be the last reunion.
my offer goes to anyone else going to Road America this year. If you need something, pm me before you go and ill give you my phone number
Wonderful Corvette hospitality, right there! Anyone not familiar, Road America is a premier track. Was at the superbike races there last year. AMA Superbike champ Josh Hayes, and Tommy Hayden both told me it's one of ALL the racers favorite track. My buddies go to the ALMS race there every year. I am going this year, for the 1st time. Special weekend celebration this year for the Corvette! Race is Aug. 20. BE THERE!
