Default LS3 Oil Filter

Just called the local AutoZone to check on availability of an AC PF-44 for my 2011 GS LS3 A6 and was told that this P/N had been superseded by PF-46. Is this right? I don't have my Owner's Manual available to check.
Thanks.

The 44 and 46 are not the right filter for your car. It has a different bypass system in it. From page 11-8 of the 2011 owners manual:

Hopefully this is an April Fools situation at AutoZone.

This is a correct answer to the question asked...the 46 is the replacement for the 44.

Could be an April Fools joke, but in case it isn't..your car takes a PF48 or UPF48R or a Mobil1 M1-113 or a K&N HP-1017 or a WIX 57060 or a Purolator PL12222.

I use the Mobil1 and K&N filters.
