Default Seat option?

How many think that GM will offer optional seats for MY '12? I do.

If they continue to offer the same cheap materials they put into my 1LT and, from many posts I've read on this forum, the other "nLT" configurations, who cares?

Seems to me that if they elected to have a "stand alone" option of, say, Recaros or Sparco seats, it would just further confuse the mix of available Corvettes. That might be appealing to many of us, but a probable nightmare for dealers who might be ordering cars for inventory.

From what I've seen, again, on this forum, replacing the seats with aftermarket units is not a really big deal in terms of conversion and would allow, presumably, the retention of the stock seats for resale.

My 1LT "Cheap Seats" work just fine for me and the women I go out with.

Not me. They don't want to dump anymore $$$ into crash testing a new seat. They might but I highly doubt it.

I doubt it.

not unless the seat mfr. is willing to pay for the crash testing, per gunter comments above.

Nope, don't see that happening before the C7.

Requires extensive engineering analysis to determine if the seat will be safe in a crash and then crash testing to prove it. Not sure how many cars would have to be destroyed but it would be more than 4 and less than 10.

Not something they are going to do when there truly isn't a market for it. The seats and material are just fine for 90+% of their Customers so why change now? If they went to a seat that holds you in place better there would be a lot of complaints from the majority of Customers since they would find the seats uncomfortable due to being too narrow and not allowing enough butt movement while driving.

Seat materials aren't any different than what you get on any other car. Put that material without any markings on it in a new Lexus/BMW/Mercedes/etc seat and the so called critcs would think it is phenomenal.

I doubt it, but really don't care. The stock seats are fine for the road. I throw in my set of Angel Pads when I go to the track and they give me all of the lateral support I need.

Considering the 100th anniversary edition has the same seats, I'm going to say no.

The C6 is a mature platform. They won't be spending any more money on this vehicle. The C7 is just around the corner.

Look again. There has been a subtle redesign.
