headlight gasket
Something has picked or eaten part of the black rubber gasket that is visible between the clear plastic headlight cover and the painted body. I can't seem to find a part number for the gasket only. All I seem to find is the $900 whole assembly. Does anyone know if you can get the gasket only?

I had this replaced under warranty as mine had slipped off some mounting tab and a corner wasn't tight any more. I was told by the dealer that they ordered only the gasket and replaced it only.

To my knowledge, the headlight module is a sealed unit and the lense is glued to the light assembly/gasket with some very strong adhesive that requires bakeing in an oven at high temperature before the lense can be removed. You should contact rlsebring here on the forum. He is very knowledgeable concerning the C6 headlights and I believe that he offers a refurbishing service. I do not believe that just the gasket is availabel through GM parts - I believe that you must purchase the entire assembly.
