I have a 2011 GS and I have seen it a lot of pictures that the ignition switch has a light that lights up green, mine looks like just a painted white line. Am I missing something?

**** sorry guys just noticed I wrote 2011 GS I meant 2010 GS, and mine does not do that, it just is a white painted circle. On 2010 is it suppose to have that light also, i like that.

If my memory serves me correctly, it lights up green when you enter the car (when you open the door, actually) but shuts off after the engine is started. I'll try to verify later.

I just confirmed this. Here's the chain of events I just observed in my car:
While simply sitting unoccupied, nothing is illuminated.
When I open the driver's door, the green circle lights up as do the graphics at the bottom (the small circle in the lower left and "ACC")in the lower right .
Once I start the car, the green circle darkens but the graphics at the bottom stay lit.
When I shut off the engine, the graphics at the bottom stay lit and the red light under the backlit circle (lower left) lights. The large circle does not light.
When I open the door to exit, nothing changes.
When I close the door after exiting, the large green circle lights up and all other lighting on the starter switch goes off. I didn't stick around long enough to see how long the green circle stays lit.
Bottom line: The green circle lights up when opening the door from the outside and goes off after starting the engine. It also lights up after closing the door upon exiting the car. Otherwise, it's off.

Thanks buddy, I just checked mine today, I guess ever since I bought it it's had a dead light in it.
Mike is of course correct and I would add that the green circle is the last thing to turn off after closing the driver's door. It goes off just as the overhead lights dim all the way and go off. Its just an LED or two inside the switch, so easy to see it just being bad...simple fix.
