Hi all just got a 08 vette about a week ago. i got a black one despite everyone saying it hard to clean, and they were right. so i wanted to ask is there any reccomended products for removing light scratches and waxing? thanks Ty
I would get someone that's good with a buffer to try to get them out. But there are alot of good products out there from Meguires and Adams to name two.

Black looks good the .01% of the time its clean but it looks old faster than other colors. I use Rejex topped with Pinnacle Souveran and really like it. I have heard that Wolfgang Fuzion actually looks the best on black cars. I tried Zaino and didn't think it lasted very long or was worth the time and effort. The only bad thing about the Souveran is it is kinda expensive ($100 for a can) and the Wolfgang Fuzion is about $200 for 8 oz. Pinnace makes a paint shampoo that helps with swirls. You can have the car wheeled if the swirls are really bad. Good luck with a black car.
To get the scratches out a good wash followed by clay bar, then Meguiars 105 followed by 205 with lot's of elbow grease if you feel very ambitious.
Easier way is to get a Dual Action polisher and use the same compounds to clean it up and polish. Porter Cable 7424 XP or Meguiars G110v2are both good DA polishers. It will still take you quite awhile to do a good job the first time. There is a lot of good how too information and some videos here: http://www.autogeek.net/detailingtips.html
Take your pick of waxes:
Wolfgang
Zaino
Rejex
Pinnacle
Adams
Meguiars
And others...
Search in the Car Care section you will find some deals and where some of the vendors give discounts to Corvette Forum members or members of their forums.
Regardless of what you read above, none of of those products will address swirls or scratches on Black. You need to look into 3M products. After that I recommend Rejex.

well, i disagree.....zaino is not just a polymer polish product, they offer a swirl and fine scratch remover, you can do it by hand or orbital buffer. my car looked like crap when I took delivery... after claying, I got it swirl and scratch free with zaino fusion then layered his polymer polish on it. multiple layers over the last 2.6 years to bring it to the level it is now..
with 9+k miles on it and 2.6 years old, it looks better then new, no road rash or faded plastic or rubber (zaino makes rubber and plastic preservative products too) there is more to taking care of a car than throwing a layer of something on the paint........

No disrespect intended but Z in no way shape or form can touch 3M products w/correct pad for heavy scrathes and swirls. Z has it's place but that's not it.
My wife had a black Dodge Shelby Charger when we first met, that was a bee-otch to keep clean. After that, I swore I'd never buy or own another black vehicle.
As far as the "who has the best product" issue going on, the pics are worth a thousand words, and wolfdogs pic is by far the show winner in my opinion.
