Default Bolt On Questions.

I have a 2011 C6, LS3.

Are Long Tube Headers a waste if I don't get a cam?...

Thanks in advance...

Why would you think that? I have headers without a cam and the car runs way better!!

Just conflicting things I hear from people... Plus I rarely see any Vette with headers and no cam! Lol

yes it is a complete waste

do kooks 1 3/4 headers if you plan on staying non supercharged with simple bolt on mods, like intake and exhaust.

do kook 1 7/8 headers if you plan on doing serious work like heads/Cam/fast 102/NW 102 TB or supercharger in the future.

otherwise 2grand for headers and installation on a stock car that will only give you a gain of about 20rwhp is a complete waste

40rwhp gain if you do intake and exhaust with dyno tune

Factory exhaust is much better today then it used to be. Therefore gains from headers today are not what they used to be. You will have to decide if it is 'worth it' to you.

With the Kook 1 3/4 Headers, I will see more power out of those at the wheels? I'm not doing any crazy bolt on's.

yes with the 1 3/4 you will see alittle more power to the wheels.. Maybe 5 rwhp and 5-10rwtq over the 1 7/8 headers. but the 1 7/8 are better if you ever decide to do a cam, supercharger or any other engine work.

for what you lose with the 1 7/8 which you cant tell or feel vs 1 3/4 you will greatly make up in the future with additional mods. And let me tell you MODDING IS A DISEASE. i can almost guarantee you that you wont stop with just the headers. i was in the same shoes as you a year back.

i Now have a full bolt on cammed c6 ls3 making 560HP and 500Lb/tq.

if i was you i would go with 1 7/8 headers and get the cam done while your at it. and if you could afford alittle more get the heads done as well. youll have a 600hp beast that will put a smile the length of your face evertime you mash that peddle.

Alright good to know.. This car is a DD right now.

I also don't plan to do the cam the same time as headers, if I ever do the cam. I'm young, money doesn't grow on trees for me lol! That's why I'm only doing the headers.. Good to know though, thanks!

Yep, your kind of screwed in CA. As far as headers being worth it, well if you plan to keep modding they are absolutely worth it. It's not so much hp that you pick up on a stock set up as it is torque. I picked up almost 20 ft lbs, plus I knew I would be doing other things down the road. There is a weight savings to be had as well swapping out the stock manifolds and full exhaust.
