xirallic update

According to industry reports, Merck is working on the Japanese factory that makes the xirallic pigments used for metallic paints. They anticipate reopening in June. Keep fingers crossed!

If I remember correctly the first time Xirallic was used on a Corvette was maybe the 2003 model. I think it was the 50th Anniversary Red color. In the Corvette Brochure I think it even says that yes this was from a German company...

Hope they get supply restored soon.

I've actually changed when/where I take my CG car, being more cautious with it, as I'm concerned that if damaged, the current unavailability of this stuff might make repairs tough.

Xirallic is back in production, and should be up to full output by the end of the month. Merck also will begin production in Germany by the end of the year.
