Default CD's

I have a 05 with nav and I can't figure out how to work the cd player. I hit the eject button on the bottom of the screen and it opens but it closes right away. How do I get it to stay open so I can get a cd in or out of it? Am I missing something obvious or is it busted? It will stay open if I hold it down for a second and will close if I press the eject button but that can't be good for it. Please help.

I have the same one in my 05 and it opens and stays open until I push the button again. Sometimes the buttons were hard to push. Even on the AC control the buttons stick and were hard to push. Maybe yours is sticking a bit and when you release the button it things it's still being pushed. I shot some CRC Electronic Parts Cleaner into all of my buttons and it loosened them up and the work normally now.

The button is easy to push and you can hear the contacts on the back side of it engage and disengage like they are supposed to. If the button was stuck would it continue to open and close over and over? Any other ideas?

If you can get it to open and close using the button in the middle of the screen at the bottom, then roll with it, it will be fine.

In other words, you really can't hurt anything by the way you push the button.

I guess I worded it wrong, I push the button to open it and before it has a chance to close I am holding the entire face of the unit down until it stops trying to close. Then I insert/eject cd and push the button again to close the unit.

The CD player does not seem to be operating as it should. You could check with the dealer, or possibly role with it and keep doing it the way you are. It should open, and stay open until there is a small amount of pressure applied to the front of the CD player to return to its normal place or the eject button is pushed again.

That is how I got the cd in there lol. Then I went to get it out and couldn't so I held it open until I got the cd out. That is when I realized that it will stay open if I force it to.
