Default Always 75 degrees

Anyone hear or have this problem. My temp on the climate controls now reads 75 all the time. I have not taken to the dealer for many reasons but could it be a fuse or something simple. Thanks for the help.

It could just be stuck or might need a new sensor. Try this:

Try pressing these 3 buttons simultaneously:

1. Rear defrost (right most climate button)
2. Front defog (2nd right most button)
3. Fan speed increase (4th right most button)

That sequence is supposed to update the temp display immediately and may correct your problem.

I believe 75 is the default when the system hasn't a clue what the hell temperature it is. If the reset above doesn't fix it, get a temp sensor for <$10 and you might get the darn thing to read correctly.

The reset is fairly picky about all three buttons being pressed exactly simultaneously.

Sorry, not only does all three buttons need to be pressed exactly simultaneously, it also requires two Stargate officers of command grade to do the reset and it has a five minute countdown!

If your temperature display is showing a constant 75 and you know that it isn't 75 out and you've driven the car around enough to wake up the outside air temperature reading then your outside air temperature sensor is defective and needs to be replaced. 75 is a default reading that the unit displays when it can't get a valid reading.

It could also be that the sensor is just unplugged..worth checking before anything else...

Does the term "stick in the mud" strike any bells with you!

I'm sure he has ALREADY checked to see if it was connected, right Mr. OP? You did check?

I'll bet he doesn't even know where the sensor is...and I wouldn't expect him to know without looking around or asking here on the forum.

Just in case. The sensor is located on the lower right front (passenger side) radiator support rail. It is a small black tube bolted to the support with wires coming out of it to a connector.

Maybe the woman in the pix is heating up the car.

What happens when you take her out of the picture?
