Default Bra

The love bugs are out here in Florida. Left on the paint, they eat the clearcoat. So, I'm thinking about a Bra for the front of my '07 C6. Which is better...the GM style Leather/naugahyde bra? Or the strechy knit front "mask".

I'm interested in hearing your experiences with either type.

Thanks,

PLBrand

I use the stretchy bra. Not as good for rock protection, but very good for bug protection. The bra covers the air inlet so you are keeping the bugs out of the radiator. Quick and easy to install once you have installed the snaps.

I see a two degree increase in coolant temp when the bra is installed.

The bra stores easily in the truck cubby in a bag supplied with the purchase.

I also use the mirror covers.

The only negative is that the snaps are chrome. The snaps on the GM bra are black and don't show up so much.

I am going to see the launch tomorrow and just got done installing the bra and mirror covers.

Sorry, those kind of Bras of which you speak are OLD technology and just plain look ridiculous in this day and age.

Ventureshield/Avery or similar or don't bother.

I have a few stains on my Ventureshield from some kind of yellow looking bug, but who cares. For a few hundred bucks I will re-wrap what needs it in a few years. Paint is pristine.

If you want quick on and off, do the mesh bra. As another poster states, the bright stainless snaps detract but for road trips and ease of install and off again, this does the job.

Bra's are ugly (IMO) so I only use it for the longer road trips. Minimal investment. Save your money for other mods.

For your purpose get the GM Bra, has a better look and fit. Plus the cost is right.

Default Bra Install

I looked through the C6 FAQ's, but didn't find any info on installing a bra.

Are there any permanent mods/snaps/drilling required? Anything that shows with the bra/mask not installed.

Are there any photos or installation guides available?

Thanks again,

I got the mesh one and also noticed a slight increase in temp especially when it rains. The snaps replace fender liner screws so no drilling. It's very easy to install and remove and is vey small when folded up, I like it. I'm somewhat concerned about covering up the front license...has anyone been stopped by Mister Policeman?
