2005 Navigation
I have used it numerous times and aside from it being graphically confusing, the great majority of directions are very vague. It only seems to recognize MAJOR highways. Street names are almost non-exisitent. When I get a direction: " drive about 1/2 mile, turn left, then right", and without street names which my three your old Garmin has, it can be very confusing. Always having to look at the screen or the mileage odometer can be dangerous.
Anyway my question: Is there an upgrade or a replacement for this system that will give me street names as my current Garmin does?
Thanx.........caplack

You aren't alone in not liking the factory Nav. That said, I'll first refer you to an excellent write up by member Talon90 on how to use it. Maybe you can find something you didn't know that will make it at least acceptable for you.

If that doesn't do it, most here go with either Kenwood or Pioneer units. The Kenwood's use Garmin Nav so one of those might be a good choice for you. And with the latest dash kits from Metra the install looks factory. Get in touch with C5Bearsfan here, he's a member and stereo/Nav vendor and offers great service and prices. Here's a link to his latest thread to help:
