Check with the dealership to see if they will replace the battery separate from your vehicle. Some of the dealers want you to bring the whole care, yes to flatbed the Corvette in its entirety, just to replace a battery. Others will take the battery from your hands, and replace it.

Keep in mind, just because a battery tests well does not always mean it is a good battery, as I am sure many have seen on the forum.

Good luck,
Brent

I just replaced a 6 week old AC Delco battery. It had the most bizzare symptoms but refused to crank even when jumped. replaced battery and fired right up. It had sat 7 days from the last drive.

Dealer wanted me to flatbed the car to replace under warranty - decided not to. Went ahead and purchased another AC Delco 85-6YR battery (replacement for the discontinued 85H7YR) through the dealer this time for ~$99 total and installed myself - took about 5-10 minutes to install and another couple minutes to reindex the windows. Back in business again! I may take it in later to check current draw, but I doubt that's the problem - I'll just need to drive it longer more often and keep on the Battery Tender if sitting for longer periods. Took it on a 60 mile round-trip tonight.

This being an old thread, the info I wanted to part with might benefit some other forum reader.

I have a 2011 GS, June 2011 first date of use, it has a 85 H7yr battery in it with 590 CC, today it finally gave up.

Had some previous indications, slow start, relay clicking noises behind radio, and twice jump started it.

So today I'm told that the 85H7yr is not the correct battery and I should have the 867YR with 650CC.

Is this the reason the 857YR got discontinued??
The CC increase?

So far so good the dealer did not charge me for anything, although they were confused as to why there was a 590 CC battery in the car.

So should all current 2011GS owners upgrade to 650CC to prevent being stranded?

Just putting this out, hope it will help somebody.

I would like to get opinions on this as well...
