I am going to Florida in a couple of weeks. What can i do to prevent paint damage to my 06 Mont red. Please don't tell me a bra, I don't like them on women but on a car it is just looks silly. Any advice will be welcome. Thanks A Bunch, John

Clear bra with Rejex on it.
Nothing better and you'll never see it unless you're right up on the car.
(don't believe me? Find the clear bra on mine - hint - even the quarterpanels are covered)
Rejex, microfiber towels and detail spray. Not many other options if you do not want to go the Bra route which I certainly agree with and understand. They all have their own downsides for the money you pay.

I have a clear bra and keep it waxed. Love bugs wash off pretty easily. I don't let them stay on and get baked onto the car. I wash it after every day of driving during love bug season.
Don't worry about. In six years with one 2100 mile trip home from the museum and a 3000 mile trip I have one small nick on top of the hood were a bra would not have helped. It has 28,500 miles on it.
Wipe the bugs off with a wet rag at the end of each day. The bugs are bad right now so it will take a little time. My wife drives a lot of hwy miles so I keep a bucket of water and bug sponge out by the car. A good coat of wax makes this a lot easier. A bra will do more harm than good.
Then for on the road, bring a couple of dryer sheets in a zip lock. when ready to de-bug, take one dryer sheet and a bottle of water, soak the dryer sheet and gently wipe over the bugs, they will disinigrate. wipe with a damp micro fiber or else it will leave a white residue. this is so easy and gentle it's truly amazing.
When I lived in FL I'd go to Wal-Mart and pick up some Duplicolor Shield they sold in the automotive section that acted like a clear spray on bra. I'd use that when making road trips during this time of year and when I got home it washed off really easy. It did leave a slight foggy look on the nose if you applied a lot (which I always did) but much better than those pesky bugs!!

gentle washing each evening will remove the bugs with minimal effort if you use Rejex before the trip.
Right now the June bugs are out and their bodily fluids are caustic to paint. A tried and true method of preventing damage is a light coating of PAM sprayed on each morning and removed in the evening.

You really have to leave them on a while for even a little damage to occur. No need to worry. Thow a sealant on (rejex is my choice) and spray off at a carwash when you get there if you are really worried. I can't believe people was their car every time a few bugs get on it.
