Default Tps advice needed

Planning on getting the grey paint stripped off the barrels of the "gumbys" (to expose the chrome underneath) on my '09 Vert and then shot with clear next week. Will be using borrowed wheels temporarily while mine are being worked on. Questions are: Must I/we connect and program the tire pressure sensors on the temporary wheels to avoid any problems with the car's computer? What if anything will happen if I run without the TPS's? And finally, If I run the temps without the TPS's, what must I do when we put the original wheels back on with the original TPS's?

Advice will be appreciated.

There are others who know more than I, but here's something I believe to be true. It may or may not be "sound advice":

If you simply remove your current wheels and then later reinstall them without doing anything else, your car should start to read the TPS either immediately, or after a few minutes driving.

While you have the subsititue wheels installed, the car won't be able to read those TPS and will give you a warning after 30 or 60 minutes of driving, seems to vary. You may or may not be able to use comp mode on your AH, and may or may not be able to turn of AH completely.

If your original wheels are in your garage where the car can read their TPS every time you park there, the TPS seem to re-set their 30/60 minute warning time.

Finally, it's actually the car that gets "trained" to recognize the TPS. The TPS themselves transmit a code that never changes.

Good luck!

Experts, it's time to jump in here and supplement/correct my information...
