First my brother, mud flaps are for pickup trucks, splash guards are for Corvettes. 
Not sure which ones you talking about but I have the Apsis guards on the front and they do a great job of protecting the sides, especially the area aft of the front wheel. Anything you can do for rock chip protection is a plus.
