intermittent starting problem
Then about 30 seconds later I tried again and she fired right up. No more issues the rest of the day.
Last night the exact same thing happened. After two tries it started up. Car is out of warranty so if i can fix it myself I would prefer to.
Any ideas? Switch maybe? I am all ears.

Or it could be a bad battery in the car (or loose connections).
But, I *have* noticed a certain pattern. Whenever I've been parked in this one parking space (well, I don't park there any more, BECAUSE of this), I have a hell of a time getting the door opened, and getting the car started. Same thing "no FOB detected" when I try to start the car, with the standard accessory relay clicking in the dash. This parking spot was near some large mechanical equipment of some kind, with large power lines feeding it. The only thing I could figure is that it was giving off some R/F interference that was cross-talking with the FOB.
Like I said, as soon as I noticed the pattern that it always happened in that one parking space, I stopped parking there.
I have also noticed that on this one stretch of highway that I frequently drive on, in the same exact spot, no matter which car I drive, I lose GPS. (No, it's not because I'm going into a tunnel or anything dumb... I lose satellite reception with clear skies above, almost every time I drive through there.)
Radio is a strange thing. Yes, the FCC is in charge of assigning frequencies for each different type of device, etc. And, theoretically this is supposed to prevent overlap and stuff like that. However, radio is weirder than that. For example, if one frequency is exactly DOUBLE that of another frequency, then it still can cause interference... same goes for exactly TRIPLE, QUADRUPLE, you get my point. Also, radio waves can bounce off of oblong shapes and metal objects on certain angles, and then the wavelength actually is CHANGED as a result. So, even if the FCC assigns a certain frequency, if the signals are bouncing off of things at exactly the right angles, something of a totally different frequency can interfere with your Corvette FOB signals.
Or, yeah, yours could just be broken.
If your car battery is the original, then start shopping for a new one. I bet you'll need it soon.
