I did some sprucing up under the hood. I think the headliner is next. I might attempt it myself over the weekend. I have a good idea to compliment all the Silver around the engine. Also got to do something about that ugly dip stick.
I would like to do the same thing on my machine silver vert. But the price tag on each little painted item is unreal! The caps are like $300 alone. Then each piece is $120 here, $140 there and so on!
Maybe if you got your a$$ downstate you would take some pics for your friend! For real I need to upgrade to a double digit megapixel digital cam. My blkberry takes better pics,
Where do you buy those parts at? My vette is machine silver too...
thx
The FRCS and radiator support are from Empire Corvettes and the brake, coolant, and power steering covers are from RPI. The fuse box cover was my creation.
Studio, looks great!!! I really like the coolant reservoir and power steering covers, where'd you pick them up at?

FYI... you can do some of it (if not all of it) yourself to save some money. Everything that's painted under my hood I did myself with Duplicolor touch up spray cans. I also lightly polished my alternator, throttle body and tensioner to give them an almost new appearance. Don't want to clutter up Studio's thread with pics, but you can see some in my profile.
So I actually sprayed my oil dipstick last night and it came out good! A agree most can be done by yourself except for the caps and molds unless you have a machine
Next I think I will do my vararam. Just concerned about it peeling since its so smooth. Any suggestions?
Look s nice. I haven't touched the engine accept for the red halltech cai. I think that's gonna be a new project. And also to take the time to get pictures on the forum. My patience is short with computers

I'd hit it with some real fine sandpaper, 800 or 1000 grit. Then wipe it down with acetone or alcohol real good to clean it. Then prime it a few coats, hit it with a few coats of silver, then hit it with clear. Several light coats are better then one or two heavy ones. Make sure your paint and clear are the same type of paint (acrylic lacquer).
The primer will dry quickly to the touch, the others take a little longer. Most of mine were painted within the same day, but the longer you can wait between coats the better. I used spray cans of Duplicolor BGM0530 Light Tarnished Silver and Duplicolor Clear.
Are those RPI covers on your master cyl, reservoir and power steering?..

Yes rpi and caps are Nakidparts .
Ok you just motivated me to go get the paints and do the vararam while it's going to beraining all weekend. Maybe start the hood liner also.
