Not that I'm concerned with the melting I just don't like dealing with having to wash it. I leave it in the garage and take it out when I can enjoy it in the sun.

Same here. No better time to use the AWD and higher ground clearance of my SUV than when the weather is nasty outside.
I'm also fortunate to own a couple of sportbikes, which just like my Vette are 100% capable of being driven in the rain, but simply will never be. The entire reason I own more than one vehicle, is so I have the option of choosing which vehicle to drive that will best suit my need for any given purpose or day. Driving a 400hp RWD sports car while all along praying it doesnt hydroplane is never on my list of needs.. or wants.
