Why don't CF Corvette owners dress their tires?
I've hardly ever seen a C6 Corvette photo here with 'dressed up' tires? Seems this trend towards shiny tires has completely gone out of style...yes or no? Who still does this?

i do once i have arrived at a show or when its back in the garage after cleaning. i dont feel like cleaning it off the paint.
the detailer for the shop does it when he washs my car, but again he does it right after lunch so it has hours to dry on.
i was thinkin i dont really have any pics with tire shined cuz i clean it,drive it, then get home and shine them.

Nothing worse looking then dry dirty looking tires with no shine on a nice set of wheels. I use armorall. Its a cream or paste type that never gets on my painted surfaces like some of the other products out there. Even comes with a applicator. I also like it cause I use it once a month and still looks good weeks later.

I use Adam's Products called VRT. It leaves a matte finish that does not fly off onto the cars paint. It is not waxy or slippery and can be used on the leather and dash on your Vette. Since it is not slippery, I even use it on my steering wheel too.

It ain't good for the tires. Accelerates in the aging of the rubber or so say the Michelien guys who give talks at Corvette Corrals.
Now if your burning through a set of rubber every 18 months..then go for it if you like the look...

Michelin is full of something. I have been doing it since late 01 on my 02 Coupe with the original tires on it. They look brand new.
I don't do it on the C6's. The C5 is my wife's and she likes it to look sharp. By the time I detail her's, I pooped and just let mine go. They have a thick layer of dust on them right now.

I don't show my car. If I did, could see the glossy tire thing. I prefer the clean flat black look.
I also live on a dirt road. My tires are brown after a few trips. All the recommended stuff on this thread attracts dust like flys on you know what. Tried a few of them. After a few runs on the dirt road my tires looked like I had done the Baja race.
Just give me a good cleaner, a brush and a rinse. Best I'll ever do.
