Default Memory Problem

OK" guys, the memory problem is in my vette,i can't do anything about my memory problem.Anyway my 08 3Lt will not hold the memory for my drivers seat most of the time it's OK with the mirrors ? i know some one is gonna jump on this & tell me where the computer is located at?.I know there are 3 little box's mounted on the seat frame because it has been replaced 3 times because the seat would not raise up or down,i was in the service bay & looked at the new frame & seen
all the stuff mounted on the frame,so I'm thinking thats where it is That is when this memory problem started, maybe the tech screwed it up somehow.

Possible causes:

1. Loose connection, usually under the seat but occasionally somewhere else.
2. Bad memory module.
3. Corvettes just do it sometimes, and the complete cure may never be found.

My dealer replaced mine under warranty, which solved the problem for a few weeks. Now it's back to the old tricks, need to re-learn either the exit position or the driving position about once every couple of weeks.

Unfortunately, I don't know where the module is located.

Good luck with yours!

I'm going for a bad connection somewhere in the circuit. Even if the plugs are plugged in doesn't mean there isn't a bad connection at the pins/sockets. Over time oxidation and films can build up on the pins/sockets and you will loose your connection and cause a break in the circuit. As more and more electronics are being added to the cars you are going to see more and more of these types of issues.

As far as correcting the problem it could be time consuming which is why the dealers probably won't properly address it. What you'll need to do is pull apart any connector and clean the pins and sockets with a spray cleaner and let dry. Once dry fill the socket side with dielectric grease and put the connectors back together. The dielectric grease will prevent future oxidation from forming on the parts because it blocks air from getting to them.

This however won't correct the problem if it is in the controller or actuator that is affected. Electrical issues are the whole reason I bought an extended warranty with my car.

Occasionally my seat fails to automatically move back forward after starting the car, and if I simply shut the engine off and restart the car, it then works. The module under the seat has already been replaced once under warranty, but it still does it, but only sometimes. I then started paying more attention to when it was happening, and it seems like it was repeating when I parked the car in the same location near some electronic doors at a grocery store, the kind that always set of the X band on your radar detector. I'm now starting to wonder if it isn't a signal interference problem with the GMLAN (class II) buss.

I've also read reports about connector problems on the transmission for the GMLAN buss not having good contact, and causing all sorts of strange problems. The intermittent nature of the problem makes me think this is a problem with the communication signals on this buss.

Thanks guys:Like i said the dealers (2) has had the seat out 3 times to replace the frame. If one of those motors or gears fail, they order a new frame witch has everything on it.I'm thinking also maybe a bent pin in one of the connectors. It's a PITA to get to those connectors. It was intermittent, but for a while but now every time i get in the car,i have to adjust as needed. It works fine when i exit ? I had no problems with my 07,but again the seat was never removed. The last time the seat was out was in December & it was a young kid from the other side of the border & not corvette trained & i think that is when the problem started.I have a GMPP, but i do not want to go back to the dealers down here, cause they might cause another problem. This weekin I'm gonna take out the 2 front bolts in the seat & then i will be able to raise it some so i can get a better view under it.Thank you guys for the help,.,.,.
