Well I have owned a 2007 vette for 24 hours and its already in the shop. High pitched squeak coming from pulley area and ac not cold. Previous owner said he had the problem ( squeak ) addressed last year at the dealership and it went away. It wasn't doing it when I test drove it nor did I test the ac at 8 o clock in the evening in Chicago. It was about 35 degrees. Assumed air worked on a 4 year old car with 25000 miles. I've learned my lesson about assuming. Whats the diagnosis from the experts about the squeak? That would be you guys. Im a new vette owner. Hope its nothing major. I still have to pay taxes on the car and my business today. BTW got almost 25 mpg driving it like i stole it back home from Chicago yesterday. My jaw is still hanging in disbelief. Its like having a hot wife that never asks for money. Which fortuneately i have anyway.
He provided me with the paperwork from the dealership showing that the problem was a pulley. Just a bit perturbed that it happened so soon. I wanna be driving it.
It's really no big deal a pulley or belt probably nothing more than that. I'm sure if he showed you the dealer ppw he's not trying to pull a fast one on you. Just bad timing. Good luck.
What are some inexspensive mods i can do to increase performance? 500 dollars and under. I have an 07 6 speed Z51 with borla stinger exhaust.
Congrats on your new C6!
My suggestion: Before you mod, take some time to get acquainted. Establish a seat-of-the-pants baseline. And of course get the squeak fixed.
As you've already seen, the C6 is plenty quick & fast. And lots of folks report 30 mpg on the highway with the LS2 in your 07 -- so your 25 mpg is entirely possible.
