Default Drive it dirty.

Saturday was about the first break in rain here in NY in what seemed like more than a week. Was going to wash and detail the vette and get it ready for a sat night drive or maybe Sunday morning. We'll I had some new CDs waiting for me at my office so decided to take a drive there and pick them up so I could listen to them while I washed the car. We'll, a 25 min round trip drive took two hours after I started listening to the CDs in the car. Was a real nice day, top off, music going, car filthy!

Anyway, got home two hours later and decided that I would cut the grass and do some leaf blowing in the driveway to clean it up before I spent the time cleaning the car. Long story short, after I cut the grass and cleaned the driveway I was going to put the mower away in my shed and and I rolled my ankle and seemed to have done some damage to my foot. Was off of it the rest of Saturday and Sunday. Never got to wash the car. The pain and swelling is down a lot but I am going for an x-ray just to make sure tomorrow.

Lesson learned: Even though I get great personal satisfaction out of cleaning and detailing the car almost every week, sometimes you need to forget it and just enjoy it the way it is.

Additional note: Am scheduled to replace my two bent front wheels on Wed. Hopefully the Doc gives me the thumbs up tomorrow to be able to use my clutch foot (the one I hurt) so I can finally get it done. This is probably the fist time since I got the car that I even considered the possibility of having got the A6.

UPDATE:

Well I got lucky and its not broken, but I have a real bad sprain, going to be in a boot and crutches for 2-3 weeks. Not supposed to put weight on it so looks like I won't be washing the vette for a while. Doc did give me the okay for some light driving as long as I have no pain. I feel like the kid who breaks their leg the first week of summer when the neighbor just got a new pool.

Driving it dirty and enjoying your Vette is certainly better than not driving it and admiring the shine.

Sometime I like it dirty.

And the car too.

I also went out on Saturday for a cruise with the top off to my parents' beach house.

It was the only nice day in the past 2 weeks and didn't feel like spending the day cleaning the car.

I'd rather be driving than polishing.

We haven't seen the sun in the Northeast in so long it's depressing. Had to take mine in the rain to and from the dealership for some work last week. Now it's the dirtiest it's been since I've owned it starting in May 06! Car isn't going to melt but it's really annoying with such little driving time so far this year...

This is rapidly becoming the spring that wasn't......

I agree with you, but I would never try to convince Wolfdogs on this one...

Thing is guys, if I didn't drive it that morning then I most likely would not have driven at all with with happened to my foot, and if it turns out I need a cast tomorrow, then I need to make sure the DR makes the cast small enough so I can get it in the foot well and on the clutch..

If I have time to either drive or wash but not both, I'll pick drive every time.

Sometimes I'll even drive it to the touchless automatic wash GASP!!
