So a buddy of mine here has an ISF. We aren't going to race; we did once before with my C5 and it wasn't close (but my C5 was putting down 426whp with nitrous).
He was asking about the new car and I started looking through car and driver spec sheets just curious how they compared.
I'm beyond shocked that the ISF has a pretty much identical 0-60 and 1/4 time yet it has 600more lbs? The power is very close with the C6 being 400/400 and the ISF being 416/371.
I also noticed the 0-150, the ISF has the Vette by nearly 2 seconds?? How is this possible with the power being so close and the vette having a 600lb weight advantage??
The C6 has a big advantage on handling but I'm completely confused how a 600lb heavier car with nearly identical power is able to post nearly identical 0-60 and 1/4 times as well as walk the vette to 150mph (2 seconds is fairly significant).
Anyone care to shed some light?

I have an IS-F and it is quick and I've seen those numbers and I haven't got a clue how they get their numbers with the weight differences. Probably in the gearing. I know one thing is it isn't even close to my ZR1. It's my dd now and it's so boring lol
I'm not knocking it at all, I respect the car and am an enthusiast. What I don't understand is how it can hit those numbers with a weight disadvantage like that and no power advantage to make up for it.

Maybe the transmission?
All in the transmission......8 forward gears keep the ISF smack in the power curve. I had one for a year and punched out high 12's with it on a drag radial.
nice sounding car... heard one the other day under WOT it was in that nice blue color.
it doesnt compare with the c6 even the stock ls2 will take it no problem..... it will compare with the camaro ss given similar weight but the ss will still have the edge because of more torque.

Dude, the uber rice has a very high end engine. Variable valve timing alone really wakes up a car and keeps it on boil. Twin cam, direct injection translates into insane levels of throttle response.
Mate this to stump pulling gears and you are good to go.
which, in a classic if-then scenario, leads me to believe that it would indeed be slower than the C6 since the C6 is faster than an M3. But of course, Top Gear isn't known for being accurate.

Not correct, I beat my buddies C6 Coupe with mine. Close but I skimmed him. I think that most car magazines that have tested these cars all had it slightly faster than the Coupe Vettes if I'm not mistaken. Slam that baby in sport mode, heat the tires up and use the paddle shifters and it will go.
Like another poster stated, it does sound real good under WOT. It doesn't compare to the looks of any C6 and while it handles well, not as good as a Vette.

So I'm confused with the statements saying that it wouldn't stand a chance against the LS2?
I realize on a road course the C6's superior handling is going to win (assuming drivers of similar skill) but car and driver put down the exact same time (12.7 @113) with the C6 on the 1/4 mile as the IS-F (IS-F actually trapped one mile per hour faster). 0-60 is also identical in both tests.
I would imagine if I did line up against him I'd experience similar results?
Really makes me want to mod . Darn warranty.
