Have a little bit of a problem that i can not find an firm answer on. We have a 06 Vette. On Friday we will have a new addition to the family. Is it possible to put a rear facing car seat in a Vette? Thanks much. Dave

Unless there is 80 pounds or more on the passenger seat, the airbag will be de-activated. It will show whether it is activated or not on the rearview mirror...to confirm it. If the airbag is de-activated, then it should be just like being in the front seat of any other car.

is there a way to deactivate the air bag other than less than 80 pounds in the seat?

In '05, it was a keyswitch but in '06, they went to the automatic 80 pound sensor. And of course you would want the airbag back on again when an adult is in the passenger seat, so probably not a good idea to bypass the sensor, though probably easy to do.
