bogus f55 switch?
My 2005 Has the selective magnet ride control switch however, this function does not seem to work and is not listed on the glove box list of options.I'm 4th owner and suspect that the switch has been changed. How can I find out if this feature is on my car.

Look for the RPO code "F55" on the sticker on the inside of the glove box door. They're in alphabetical order.

Ask a friendly dealer to check it out or where you purchased it.

It is very difficult to identify the difference by just turning the switch.
A search of this forum will help you understand how to check the system to verify that it is working but even then the change is subtle and difficult to tell.

Some people have added the switch to turn NPP on and off.

He is asking about the suspension - not the exhaust.

I think SKW was merely suggesting that if it is in fact bogus that maybe a previous owner installed it up to operate a NPP exhaust system....

Strange, I have had both Z51 and F55. I prefer F55.

Must not have had any rough roads to drive on.

I never had the Z51 option, but I had both base suspension and F55. The F55 was noticeably better than the base suspension on rough roads.

Well...you'd probably never notice the improvement it provides just driving to and from your local 7 Eleven

The mere fact that it doesn't feel any different on or off makes you wonder what its value is...
If you're not going to notice it going to the local 7 Eleven, where ARE you going to notice? If you are out on the highway, that's a nice smooth ride anyway, so what else is there?

there was a problem with some F55 systems not engaging properly, check the C6 FAQ to make sure you are not experiencing the same thing.

It could be that the previous owner replaced the center section/radio bezel with one from a different car that did have F55.
If it's not listed in the RPO Codes in the glove box and you're still unsure, have your VIN checked.
As for the comment about the F55 option being worthless, pull your head out.
